Summer Sales Update

We have seen the sales market moving steadily during July as is the norm during the summer months. The market activity levels are varying with house sales picking up and flat sales easing off. Many buyers with young children looking to make a summer move and gain that spot in their chosen school. Our Wimbledon Park office in particular has seen a significant pick up in viewing numbers within the grid. Open days on some properties have attracted over 10 viewings inside the first week with multiple bids coming forward. With the incoming new Prime Minister there has been fresh talk of changes to the current stamp duty rules and brackets. This is delaying first time buyers, in making decisions, that combined with the upcoming Brexit deadline. We fully expect a surge post Brexit in sales activity, the past three years has seen a prolonged downturn in the sales market. Once the uncertainty has been removed, buyers still have record low interest rates and easy access to mortgages. Here at Brinkleys we are still maintaining the most competitive fees in South West London at just 0.9% inc vat, so do get in touch for a free market appraisal.
