On top of this if you are buying or renting, we will need to ask for a budget and for rentals we are also required to check your Right to Rent status.
The only third-party companies that we will need your permission to pass on your details to are our chosen referencing company for rentals; and for sales, it may be a mortgage broker or a surveyor. In any case, you can be assured that any third-party company will adhere to the new GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations, 2018) regulations. However, we cannot accept responsibility for their actions and they will have their own consent forms.
Your information may be collected via our website, via email or over the telephone. The latter will be followed by a ‘confirmation and consent’ email, so you can check the details and information we hold are correct, and you agree to its use in finding you a home or renting /selling your property. If you register via our website there will be a ‘consent’ tick-box, as we can no longer assume that in submitting your contact details it indicates that you wish to be put on our database.
You acknowledge that the information which you provide to us may amount to sensitive personal data under the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and you consent to that data being processed as set out in this Privacy Policy.
You have the Right to be forgotten, which means that you can request that your information is deleted from our database. Simply contact us via info@brinkleys.co.uk and it will be acted upon with one calendar month. Similarly, the Right to Access means that you can write to or email us to request to see the information we hold on you – this will be sent electronically again, within one calendar month and we may ask for some identification before releasing the information.
Strictly speaking we cannot even give your information to even a sibling or spouse. We will endeavour to adhere to this but if this is of particular importance to you we would appreciate it if you would make it known. Once we have found you a property or sold / rented yours, we will archive your details and send you the occasional seasonal greeting, in-house promotion or informational email, such as new Energy Performance Certificates regulations etc., but we will never sell your data to another company. Please note that there may be instances where it may be necessary for us to communicate with you, in any event, for administrative or operational reasons relating to our service.
There may be occasions when we need to give your name and telephone number to another person; a gas operative, electrician, builder or perhaps a cleaner. Please be assured that we will always ask your permission first, unless it is an emergency or a matter of national importance.
